I joined a challenge again, because I was so motivated by the giveaway. It was a Benefit pouch with a mermaid on the cover, listening to her seashell and going "she shops by her shell phone by the sea shore". It was amusing and I was sold!

So the rules were 6x6, using red green and white, with at least one photo 2"x 3", and twine in any color.

All that glitter is me, but the frills, puff and laces, I've gotta work on it!

I have not scrapped 6x6 ever, so it was a mental challenge for me! I scrapped away one instax photo and I really did not like the final look before I finally figured I could do a mini layout. Thankfully it was the start of the year and I had on hand little photos that I took of my girls for school use. I had one cheeky one of Charis which I wanted to keep somewhere, so I popped it into this layout challenge which I completed in an hour!

I did some doodling, stamping, misting and inked up some vellum butterflies.  My latest loot of Amy T's stamps are the best.  A little here, a little there and I completed my layout for the challenge.

Want a future

The talented DorcasYHJ held a facebook group challenge on her Moments Recorded, asking for entries following the guidelines of 1) 4 patterned papers , 2) 3 brands and this was what I came up with.

I pulled out a piece of paper from my Prima ledger pack and recognised this as something from Pixie Glen (which incidentally I did a project with and I taught a class with it as well). I dug through my scraps bag and pulled out a K&Co, Kaisercraft, October afternoon and Pink Paislee to go with this layout.  I also pulled out my distress inks and mask and did a first cut in an hour in the night.  When I snapped the photo of the first cut, I realised that it did not have enough depth. In the morning, I worked on deepening the masked effects.

I think it quite paid off since I think this turned out to be a really striking layout.  I did not spend a lot of time putting it together but the longest time of inactivity was actually on the titling and journalling.  I spent a good 10-20 minutes staring at the layout! hahahhaa.... I need to work on my titling skill.

Fly

Such a drowsy browsy Sunday!  Probably partially due to the fact that I was mulling over a layout till quite late last night. 

Today's sun is gloriously hot, bright and one of those "I wish I was dipping in the sea" type of day, or better yet with a large pina colada and by the pool side wearing a large floopy hat.
I was working on a challenge from Moments Recorded, set by June on the simple theme of Wings. Me being me, I left it to the really last weekend to get it up as the deadline is 10th March.  I pulled out my favourite photo and here is my bright sunny happy take.  Childhood is so full of promises and I couldn't help but tie it together with God's promises in rainbows.

Inspired by all those drippy gooey crayon art on Pinterest, I thought I'd do my own non melt art version and here's my take on it.

My cam  is still down so this was taken by my iphone 4 (no S).  I brought my Canon to repair and was very sad when Canon told me it'd cost $400 odd to have it repaired and that it was kind of a goner...  looks like I need to buy a new cam.

Any suggestions?

WCMD 2011

My first World Card Making Day was played at Pink Paislee.

Here was my card which I submitted for a #1 Bit of color on Neutral base Challenge and #4 Upcycling Challenge.  I did it in half an hour after being inspired by June.  I have to say, it was fun :)

Birthday Bash

Tonight, in a moment of randomness, I decided to scrap my daughter's birthday photos to make it for the Laine's tag challenge.  I was very motivated by the Pink Paislee Soiree papers I bought at a Papermarket sale.  The little signs and flags and all were just begging to be fussy cut by the cutterbee and I had to do it.

This was what happened after all that fussy cutting.  As for the cake, Ms E decided it was better she lopped off some ....!

Ed's sketch for March

I decided to use my MLS scraps to give the Ed's sketch a go as I wanted to see if I could use it to create the torn paper look I wanted to achieve.  Here's my take on Ed's sketch.
