Photographs perfect

Decided one Sunday to bring Ms E & BbC exploring around our neighborhood. I've stayed here for more than 20 years and did not know that there were nooks, crannies and little pathways in our neighborhood.

We had a fun day, stopping for playground breaks and snack time. My reward? - a rare photo of the two of them holding hands strolling together. BbC's at the age where she doesn't want any hand holding.

World Happy Day

Some time jn Feb, Ms E joined daddy for his company fundraiser activity in Singapore's shopping belt to raise money for Operation Smile, a charity work by surgeons to correct cleft lips for children all around the world. It was a meaningful activity for her and she learned to pluck up her courage to speak to adults to ask them to donate towards the cause.

One photo was taken by BY's colleague and given to us, so I simply had to inmortalise the day she went for her first social cause. This MME paper was just perfect... ❤

Artist Trading Cards

I did some ATC swaps in Jan and March earlier this year but forgot all about it until today.  I saw a whole lot of tiny cards and were reminded of the two swops I did on one of the Facebook group created by ATC fan, Jieying.

The first one I did was themed on Friends.  We could all do anything we like so long it was about friends.  I found the repeated making a tad tedious but the returns were interesting.

The first ATC I participated titled "FRIENDS", using Tim Holtz resist papers, inks, mists, transparencies, washi tape and embossing.
The second one I took part in was in March and titled Yellow.  That was more difficult for me as I was wondering how much yellow must I have, what are the elements required etc.  In the end I decided to just create first and think later.  You can see my signature "bird" on the ATCs.  I like bird print very much so Jenni Bowlin's Fiskar Punch gave me the dimension I had always wanted.
My second swap themed "YELLOW". A whole pile of yellow duplicates made by me... 16 ATCs!

Look at what gorgeous yellow ATCs I received in return!
It's rewarding to receive but I don't think I will participate in ATC anytime soon.  I need a break to do some regular crafting.

Crop and create

Here's a card I made with scraps from the earlier mini. I used a DCVW card base and put together washi, paper and some buttons, pins and twine to make this for my lovely colleague Helen :). I must say, making the rosette was not as easy as I thought. All that pleating made me want to immediately dash out to buy the sizzix rosette die.

My colleague Helen is quite amazing. Her birthday is just around the corner and she looks perpetually young! She has some secret she's not sharing since her daughter is ready for College.

Anyway, I hope she stays like this as it's always wonderful to see her cheerful face when I step into office.

Asian inspiration

Kristy from Far Flung Craft kindly donated a whole lot of papers to charity causes recently and I picked up a box when I wanted to craft for Hope for Animals. Here's one of my first mini made with FFC papers.

This was made with one of my favourite range from Far Flung Craft, the Peranakan collection.  Just look at those gorgeous papers in jewel colors.  Especially that rose paper that I used on the cover, just reminds me of the flasks used in the olden days in our kitchen.  Don't you think so?
