Today I attended the wedding of my colleague, good friend, fellow scrapper Kee Ping. Other than giving her the traditional red packet of well wish, I was also to bring her a card made by my junior cardmaker ms E. ms E made this for last month's scrapbook challenge when she heard the prize was a stamp. It motivate her to use her Webster Page to make something that could fit on the cover of my Collage Press red packet. (I attached the photo of her card we submitted for the challenge.)
She won.
And so I had to make sure I showcased her card well. And here is my simple base to her romantic card, specially for Ken and KP.
Have a blessed marriage!

Jhang's farewell
We had this temp who worked with us for a really short while and looked like a young korean wannabe. He was as hardworking as our korean counterparts, and was also dilligent and meticulous.
On his last day, which we made him extend, we brought him out for lunch and gave him a farewell card. I think he broke tradition by not making us anything in return. hahahaha/
Anyway, we all signed this and he was off to his new journey as a permanent staff in a creative firm.
Materials : Card - DCVW; Papers - October Afternoon

Kyle Birthday Card by E
Ms E had a good friend in school named Kyle. He had a birthday today and she wanted to make sure he had her address in it as well, as this is their final year in Kindy together.
She pulled out some supplies and declared to me that "Kyle's favorite color is green". After she dictated the stuff she wanted, I helped her trim the Bella Blvd paper and she pasted it down and chose her fonts. Thanks to the generous rak from TinkerB Mich, she had these nice fonts to match her card.

Finally, the card is finished with cute sprinkles and gem dots. Cuteness! ❤

Rest
My rainbow sister Lily's birthday falls on the end of September. Lily loves purple, and I made a purple card for her last year. But I did not want to make a purple card for her this year so I thought a little about it.
Our pastor always speaks to us regarding the finished work of Christ, and always reminds us to be in a position of resting in His promises. Lily too is a christian, so I naturally wanted her to "rest". Lily is a busy bee and so I thought what better to depict rest than a chair.
Gorgeous , ain't it?
Materials : Card base - DCVW, Emboss plate - Cricut, MT washi tape.

I stamped this houndstooth armchair in deep purple and had it embossed , fussy cut and popped on a yellow green background. It is a little lime in color but I could not get an accurate tinge on the iphone. My cam could not be repaired so I am depending on my 4S until I have decided which camera or whether I need a new camera at all...
I embossed a piece of vellum, stained it lightly with purple chalk pigment, then misted a piece of lace to match. I was quite pleased with the effect! Then I put in my signature bling by the pearls to finish up the bow, and tiny crystals to "stud" the vellum frame to complete the look. The happy birthday tag is handwritten on washi tape, on a white cardstock piece.

Of course, I had to stamp a crown to complete the royalty look! |

Birthday doubles
My two besties birthday just passed and since we all know each other, I made a matching but slightly different card for both of them.
I have like 5 assorted boxes of DCVWcard base on standby for those days where I need to make cards in a jiffy. These are really handy and I pulled these two from the Josephine collection.
My two besties birthday came around again and we had a great celebration at a Jap restaurant, all 7 of us. I had the privilege of making their cards again this year & I decided to make it alike but different. Like them.

Here I used Japanese fabric tape and washi tape for the cards. Coupled with paper trims, Webster cardstock alphabets and of course topped with my favorite stickles and gems.
I used some faber castell watercolor pencils on the cupcake but coloring is unusual for me. I think if I want to continue doing so, I'd need to buy better color pencils.

Crop and create
Here's a card I made with scraps from the earlier mini. I used a DCVW card base and put together washi, paper and some buttons, pins and twine to make this for my lovely colleague Helen :). I must say, making the rosette was not as easy as I thought. All that pleating made me want to immediately dash out to buy the sizzix rosette die.
My colleague Helen is quite amazing. Her birthday is just around the corner and she looks perpetually young! She has some secret she's not sharing since her daughter is ready for College.
Anyway, I hope she stays like this as it's always wonderful to see her cheerful face when I step into office.

Frosty the snowman
This close to Christmas I had lots of gifts to prepare and tags to make. Here's three really quick and simple tags I made in 2"-3" in size by pulling out some October Afternoon's 8x8" christmas paper from this and last year's range.
Tag One
This simple 3"x3" tag was made with a little ribbon and paper trim, with stickles glittered over all the snowflakes. The fussy cuts on the mistletoes decorate the little hand drawn greeting.

Tag Two
This little tag had the snowman stickled in Rock Candy, and the snowflake covered with Zing metallic green embossing. Again, decorated with hand drawn greeting and the tag slightly distressed.
Tag Three
Tiny tag made 2"x3" with leftovers. Stickled lime green mistletoe, with a glossy lacqured snowman on distressed paper.
And to show how easy it really is to make these, here's one made by my 5 year old for her teacher.

The Secret Gift Exchange
Our little scrapbook group decided to do a mystery gift exchange this year by picking names and packing a present. We were not to tell anyone and to make a card or tag to accompany it.
This was my card take. On it, there were distress soot stickles and clearing dot embossing and a little lace trim. The tree was made from green cardstock, distressed with green inks, textures by cuttlebug's large script embossing folder, emboss ink and zing pink glitter emboss powder over the raised bit for the snow crusted effect.

MIA
It's been almost a month since my last post! Sorry that I've been missing in action as I have been really caught up at work and have been shopping online to prepare for my christmas projects!
Here's a card I made last month but did not realise I had not uploaded it. I love all the fussy cutting on this one and the inside reads "I really envy how you turn back time cos you look nothing but sixteen! Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen!" (hence all the upstide down numbers )

WCMD 2011
My first World Card Making Day was played at Pink Paislee.
Here was my card which I submitted for a #1 Bit of color on Neutral base Challenge and #4 Upcycling Challenge. I did it in half an hour after being inspired by June. I have to say, it was fun :)
Can you guess what kind of occasion this card is going to be used for?

Royal Flower
I made this unusual birthday card for a dear sister friend of mine who is going to celebrate her birthday soon. As purple is one of her real favourite colors and she requested us not to waste money buying her flowers, the rest of the girls specified for me to make a card with a lil bit of flowers to replace the ones we could not buy with the specific words for the outside of the card. The card is titled such and has a butterfly because once we are transformed by His grace, like a caterpillar who metamorphasised, we will never be the caterpillar again even if we deserve to be any less.

Three cards in August
I did these couple of cards in the month of August, but did not post them until the cards reached the hands of the intended people. Here are a couple made for a pair of dear sisters whose birthdays fall in August. The designs were scraplifted from a couple of cards I saw on scrapbook.com and I did my own versioning on them.
Card for Lovely was faux-stitched with sakura souffle pen and embossed with Zing glitter powder.
Similarly, the Card for Fe was also faux-stitched with pen and words written with sakura souffle pen. This was a little more elaborate with the clouds pre-embossed to give it some texture and the pennants outlined in thin black lines to give it some emphasis.
The month of August also saw the farewell of one of our colleague as he moved to a new appointment. I made a small card and took a pix before it was filled with words of well wishes written by all my colleagues :)

Happy Birthday Diana
I made this card the same day I made one for Helen. And this card was chosen for Diana because when you first know Diana, she looks all quiet and serious. But deep inside, Diana is nice like candies and she is also very brilliant. A lot of thing can go through her mind and so this is what I made for her.

happy Birthday, Helen
In the month of May, I made a couple of birthday cards for two special ladies. Here's one for my colleague Helen which I liked for all the chirpy and cheery stuff that reminds me of Helen. Helen's very positive so this makes me think of her.
The paper's from DCVW, embossed with Tim Holtz Sizzix folder, on cardstock. Bird stamp from Unity, flowers from Prima and Butterflies diecut from Kaisercraft paper with Martha Stewart Punch. Alphas from My Little Shoebox.

Whale Done!
These few weeks, I have been packing up my study to make more space for myself and my kids. Finally, the room is more or less in order, with a space for me to scrap, to sew, and for my kids to craft.
So here's something to congratulate myself. And maybe once a while, you need to pat yourself on the back too.

Happy Birthday, Esther
I made this for a very special sister of mine, Esther. I don't have any real sisters, but I have some very close friends that I have been very fortunate to count as sisters.
Esther's birthday is on 5 April, but we all met up to celebrate with her on the 8th, hence this late post.
The card is made beautiful by all the wonderful wishes from the rest of us that night.
Happy Birthday, Queen!
Materials : DCVW cardstock brights and patterned paper, Pearl and mini pearl adhesive, Martha stewart butterfly and lace punch., Unity stamp, Ranger dimensional paint, MLS alpha stickers.

Happy Birthday , KP
I made this for a friend of mine whose birthday is today. It's my first card since I started scrapping and I tried many configurations before finally settling on this - keeping it sweet and simple like the birthday girl.
I used diamante slide letters for her initials and cut away the slide back to make it flat alphas. She just texted me to say she's received it and likes it, so I'm happier than happy. I hope it made her day and made her smile.
~Happy Birthday, KP!~
