There's always time to love.

Although it is only the start of the month, almost everyone I know have their time centred around two issues. General Elections, and Semestral Assessments.  For me, I am reminded that life goes on after all and so I made a little reminder of what is important to me. Here is my clock made from Kaisercraft papers, some stamping, punches, spray and glitter!

Spend that extra time with your loved ones and remember, there's Always Time for Love, Hug, Kisses.

It's so clear!

Because today is Good Friday, I thought it'd be nice to post something good. This is my very first step-by-step tutorial and I thought I'd share it with you on Good Friday.

How to use your favourite stamps to make transparency/ print screens/ whatchumaecallits for your projects or to match your paper. aka DIY transparency.

First you prepare the tools you need. Here I have a transparency cut to the size I want (5"x7"), a bottle of Ranger's Alcohol inks, Staz On bronze metallic ink pad, and Kaisercraft's La Chateau stamps on a couple of clean paper. READY?

Next, drip a few drops of alcohol inks on the "top" and "bottom" of the transparency.

After that, you can either soften it by spritzing with rubbing alcohol, daubing, or like me, I mix the ink drops and rubbing alcohol in a mister to spritz.

This is how it should look like after daubing or spritzing. If you want the color to be intense, wait for it to dry. If not, you can flip it facing down to do stamping on the other side.

Take the stamp of your choice, and stamp on the top part to create a pattern. You need not reink, but to stamp continuous so that some are bright some are faded. And repeat the same for the bottom.

And when you're done, tada! It should look like this.

Have fun stamping!

Sakura new year

When I made this, all I could think of was that Sakura signify a new season and would rightly be paired with Chinese New Year. Our family had a wish to go visit Japan one day, to see the sakuras, experience the culture and also to visit Tokyo disney - I did not think that it was not to be.

Anyway, I saw the news report that Sakura season this year was a solemn affair in respect for those at the affected towns.  I hope that Japan will recover quickly and recover much of its rich history so when I visit after Elpis' PSLE (that's our new target) it will be safe sound and better than before.

I made this layout with my MLS papers for an MLS challenge, and paired it up with this cute photo of BbC taken with a pair of Russia Dolls during the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year 2011. We were visiting my in-laws and they had this pair of dolls which they bought in Russia and are the same size as BbC! BbC was a little stunned and amazed by these same size people that did not respond to her.

Look at all that pinkiness! I think BbC's little brocade dress added to the whole feel.

and here's some fussy detailing on the page that I cut from another paper in the same set.

Materials : My Little Shoebox Harmony Papers, diecut sticker, mini alphas and glitter alphas, Ribbon.

Happy Birthday, Esther

I made this for a very special sister of mine, Esther. I don't have any real sisters, but I have some very close friends that I have been very fortunate to count as sisters.

Esther's birthday is on 5 April, but we all met up to celebrate with her on the 8th, hence this late post.

The card is made beautiful by all the wonderful wishes from the rest of us that night.

Happy Birthday, Queen!

Materials : DCVW cardstock brights and patterned paper, Pearl and mini pearl adhesive, Martha stewart butterfly and lace punch., Unity stamp, Ranger dimensional paint, MLS alpha stickers.

See the Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

Today I really felt like going for a long holiday. Maybe because I had been looking at my ever evolving list of To-do at work, so images of the sea/ shade of ruffling palms, and the smell of salt drifted into mind. Need not be too far away but just some quiet time with the girls at the sea would be good.

So I dug out this layout I did a couple of months back that I nearly threw away when I thought it was too complicated.

Well, I am glad I did not. Or rather, glad that June asked me not to.

Misting, stamping with the mask, sewing, paper tearing, staining, ruffling; I think I tried it all on this layout.

I did machine stitching on the alphas so they would stay down. I also corner punched the E so it would be rounded like the rest of the layout. Torn paper strip below the flags to perk it up, like it was flying and fluttering, and to give it a rough flagpole look.

Happy thoughts!

It's been a while since my last post and I'm feeling happy today. I saw my layout featured on Ed's Sketch! Thank you so much Ed's Sketch, for featuring my layout!

Do give the Sketch a try. I like the challenges.

Meanwhile, here's something fast that I did with Girl's Paperie's charms. I fell in love with the sentiment charms the first time I saw them and had been hoarding them for some special use. One day, I chanced upon an old and ugly bag hang of mine, and viola, BAG HANGS!   I made this for 6 of my rainbow sisters (because there's 7 of us all believing in God's wonderful promises) for Christmas and unexpectedly it won a prize in Scrapoholic's facebook December challenge.

Here's the photo to share with you. Aren't they just lovely?
